PAVING
There are three steps to properly installing stone pavers so that they last the test of time.
Removal of old concrete/asphalt
The first step is to remove the old material such as concrete or asphalt. Most of the time we will use heavy machinery to quickly get rid of the unwanted material.
Sub-base preparation
The next step and arguably the most important is to prepare the ground where the pavers, bricks or stones will be placed. It is crucial to have a sub-base that is sturdy and graded properly so that the MASONRY WORK will last. Grading prevents water from pooling on the surface as well as erosion control. Once graded the base will be compacted to make sure that it will not shift or settle over time.
Paving
The final step is to lay the new pavement over the compacted base. Depending on the pavement the contractor will lay out everything and will apply a sealant (if required) and/or fill the gaps with special materials designed to keep all of the pavers in place.
